DOE National Training Center/HAMMER Federal Training Center Partnership
The Richland Operations Office (RL) and the Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA) have established a unique partnership that provides valuable resources to the Department of Energy (DOE) enterprise by providing premier safety, health, security and emergency response training.
Together, the training centers prepare the DOE’s workforce to safely and securely accomplish the DOE missions, while strengthening them through training that builds upon highly successful models and labor management partnerships. Through this collaboration, a DOE complex-wide training reciprocity process that improves portability of safety and health training has been implemented. DOE enterprise-wide access to improved training materials eliminates duplication, reduces redundant training, improves worker learning, conserves valuable resources, improves project mobilization, and most importantly, improves worker safety.
DOE offices are also working with Metal Trades, Construction Trades, the Energy Facilities Contractor Organization Group (EFCOG), the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences Worker Trainer Program (NIEHS), and the Building Trades Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) to leverage long-standing partnerships, expertise and successes to serve workers enterprise-wide.
The National Training Center (NTC) and the Volpentest HAMMER Federal Training Center support the overall DOE enterprise training needs through the continued support of Ernest Moniz Secretary of Energy; Monica Regalbuto, Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management; and the leadership of Glenn Podonsky, Director of Enterprise Assessments.
